Rencontre Reconciliation
War has left deep scars, but Rencontre Réconciliation works to heal these wounds through dialogue, memory and encounter.
A European association
We transform the traces of war into a bridge to a future of peace and mutual understanding. The association Rencontre Réconciliation and its website MémoiresRéconciliées works to overcome the transgenerational trauma left by the Second World War, by creating a space for sharing and understanding between Europeans. Independent and non-profit, the association aims to raise awareness of the concept of "Kriegsenkel", these "grandchildren of war" inheriting psychological wounds. It focuses on four categories of war scars, including persecuted soldiers, children born of the German occupation, forced conscription, and supporters of the Third Reich. Through cultural events and meetings, the association promotes European reconciliation and intercultural dialogue.
Our projects

Conferences
We propose first of all to make the Kriegsenkel phenomenon known to the French public. Their associations and discussion groups are still little known in France. Our association wishes to organize cultural events with Cultural Centers, Franco-German associations, twinning committees, municipalities, associations of veterans, deportees, resistance fighters, etc.
Also affected are all those who are simply interested in the Second World War and its consequences in the 21st century.
Encourage dialogue and reconciliation
Our second initiative is the organization of meetings between populations who have suffered traces of war so that each can bear witness to their family history. Mutual understanding is indeed a democratic approach.

Strengthening European trade
We are convinced that these initiatives can enrich cross-border relations and revitalise twinning arrangements between European cities. By facilitating these exchanges, we contribute to strengthening cohesion between generations and nations.
